We have taken this call more than once. A shared-hosting account that was fine for a 6-page brochure site starts dropping checkouts on the day the store launches, because 300 people arrived in the same 10 minutes and the account was never built for that. The old fix was a server and a person to look after it. In 2026, “cloud hosting” mostly means a managed server: resources you can resize, with the provider patching, monitoring and backing it up, so you do not babysit it. This article compares the 3 names UAE buyers ask us about most, Hostinger, Cloudways and A2 Hosting (now hosting.com), from their own pages, and then states plainly where our plans fit.
Disclosure: this page is published by BIGBANG ITS FZE, which sells the plans in the BIGBANG ITS section. Competitor figures were read from each company’s own public pages on 2026-10-12 and are linked to their source. Prices change; check the linked page before you order.
Quick Answer
Managed cloud hosting is a server, or a slice of one, that the provider sets up, patches, monitors and backs up while you manage the website. Hostinger sells it as a plan with its own control panel and a 48-month headline price. Cloudways sells a management layer on top of DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS and Google Cloud, billed by the hour. A2 Hosting, now hosting.com, sells managed cPanel servers without root access. None of the 3 pages we read names a Middle East location. For a UAE buyer, BIGBANG ITS offers cloud VPS in Germany from USD 8.90 per month, fully managed AWS servers in the UAE region, servers in a Dubai data centre on request, managed WordPress plans, and 24/7 support in Arabic and English.
What “Managed Cloud Hosting” Actually Includes
The word “cloud” has a formal definition. NIST describes cloud computing as on-demand access to a shared pool of computing resources that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort. For a website owner, that means a server whose vCPU, RAM and NVMe storage can be resized without a rebuild. “Managed” is the part that varies between providers, so read it as a checklist:
- Resources. How many vCPU, how much RAM and NVMe storage, and whether traffic is metered.
- Who patches and monitors. Operating-system updates, security fixes and 24/7 monitoring done by the provider, not by you.
- Backups. Daily, off-site, and restorable by you from a panel, or only on request.
- Staging. A copy of the site to test updates before they go live.
- Control panel. cPanel, a provider’s own panel, or root access and a console.
- Support. Hours, channels, languages, and whether application-level help costs extra.
The 3 tiers are easy to confuse. Shared hosting is one account on a server shared with many others: cheap, fully managed, and limited when traffic spikes. An unmanaged VPS gives you a whole virtual server with root access, and every update, backup and failed service is yours. Managed cloud hosting sits between the two: your own resources, with the provider doing the server work. Our guide to choosing a VPS covers the sizing side; this article covers the providers.
Hostinger
What their pages say. Hostinger’s Cloud Startup plan is listed at USD 7.99 per month on a 48-month term, renewing at USD 25.99 per month, with 4 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe storage, 100 PHP workers, unlimited websites, a dedicated IP, daily and on-demand backups and a CDN (verified on 2026-10-12). The same page lists Cloud Professional at USD 15.99 and Cloud Enterprise at USD 29.99 per month on the 48-month plan. The pricing page confirms the 48-month total of USD 383.52 for Cloud Startup, that all plans are paid upfront, and that prices are listed without VAT. “Managed” at Hostinger means its hPanel control panel, managed hosting for WordPress, WooCommerce and web apps, a free done-for-you migration, priority 24/7 support, and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Its data-centre section lists regions in North America, South America, Europe, South Africa, Asia and Australia, and its priority support covers 10 languages beyond English, including Arabic.
What we see for a UAE buyer. The headline price depends on paying 48 months upfront, so compare the renewal rate and the 4-year total, not the monthly figure. No Middle East location appears on the page we read, so a Dubai visitor’s requests travel to Europe or Asia; our hosting-location comparison shows what that distance costs in response time. The plan is a managed account with a panel, not a server you can resize by the vCPU, which is fine for a WordPress site and less flexible for a custom application. The 30-day money-back term and Arabic-language support are both stated on their page and are real advantages for a first-time buyer.
Cloudways
What their pages say. Cloudways is a management platform, not a data centre. Its pricing page offers two products: Cloudways Flexible, where you choose a cloud provider from DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS and Google Compute Engine and a server size, and Cloudways Autonomous, a fully managed WordPress product with autoscaling. On DigitalOcean, Flexible starts at USD 11 per month for 1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 50 GB storage and 2 TB transfer, billed hourly at USD 0.0357, and rises to USD 342 per month for 24 vCPU and 128 GB RAM (verified on 2026-10-12). Every Flexible plan includes 24/7 chat and ticketing support, free SSL, a server-level firewall, staging and cloning, automated backups with off-site storage billed at USD 0.033 per GB, vertical scaling and a free managed migration of the first site. Billing is pay-as-you-go in arrears, there is a 3-day free trial without a credit card, and the page states that AWS and Google Cloud prices differ by region. The DigitalOcean location list on the page names New York, Amsterdam, Bangalore, Frankfurt, London, San Francisco, Singapore, Sydney and Toronto; the other clouds are described by the count of data centres, not by city.
What we see for a UAE buyer. Hourly billing is honest and predictable, and the USD 11 entry price is the lowest of the 3 for a real server with dedicated resources. Two things to budget for: the page lists an Advanced Support add-on at USD 100 per month for help beyond the server, and the Autonomous product is priced per plan rather than per server, so the two lines are not directly comparable. No Middle East city is named on the page we read; a UAE buyer who needs the region picks AWS at launch and pays that region’s rate. Cloudways is a strong fit for an agency or developer who is comfortable choosing a cloud and a size, and a less obvious fit for an owner who wants one company to answer for both the server and the site.
A2 Hosting (Now hosting.com)
What their pages say. The A2 Hosting addresses we tested, including its managed VPS and cloud hosting pages, now redirect permanently to hosting.com, so we read the hosting.com managed Linux VPS page instead. It sells Managed cPanel servers from a 4 GB plan with 2 CPU cores, 100 GB NVMe storage and 1 TB of monthly bandwidth up to a 256 GB plan, plus managed bare-metal servers (verified on 2026-10-12). “Fully managed” is defined on the page in plain words: the company handles OS patching, firewall maintenance, security updates, daily backups to a separate server and 24/7 monitoring, and you work through cPanel and WHM; root access is not provided, by design. Every plan runs CloudLinux, Monarx malware protection and Softaculous, LiteSpeed replaces Apache from the 16 GB plan up, migrations are free, and the page states a 99.99% uptime guarantee and a choice of 10 data centres, mostly in Equinix facilities. The plan prices are rendered by script and were not in the page HTML we fetched, so we do not quote them; a 30-day money-back figure appears in the page’s plan-comparison data.
What we see for a UAE buyer. This is the most conventional of the 3: a cPanel server that someone else patches, which suits a company that already runs cPanel and wants to keep its workflow. The trade-off is explicit on their page: no root access, so a custom stack or a non-PHP application needs their unmanaged line instead. The 10 locations are not listed by city on the page we read and none is described as Middle Eastern. Confirm the monthly price and the renewal price in the cart before comparing, because they were not readable from the page itself.
BIGBANG ITS
We run 3 server lines and 2 managed hosting lines, and the honest geography matters more than the brand names. Our cloud VPS line runs on Hetzner infrastructure in Nuremberg, Germany. UAE data residency is served by our fully managed AWS servers in the UAE region, or by a server in our Dubai data centre configured on request. All prices below are from our cloud server store and service pages, in USD, as of 2026-10-12.
| Option | Starting price | Where | Managed by us? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloud VPS, Hetzner-based (Cloud Performance 2 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe, CPX11) | USD 8.90 per month; 2 vCPU / 4 GB from USD 9.90, 4 vCPU / 8 GB USD 14.90, 8 vCPU / 16 GB USD 25.90, up to 48 vCPU / 192 GB at USD 1,409.90 | Nuremberg, Germany | Created automatically on payment with full root access, a browser console, IPv4 and IPv6, and 24/7 support. Setup, migration, monitoring and patching are done by our team under a management agreement, quoted with the server. |
| AWS managed cloud server, UAE region (t3.small, 2 vCPU, 2 GB) | USD 97.78 per month; t3.medium USD 204.13, t3.large USD 418.45, t3.xlarge USD 1,004.89; the same sizes in Germany from USD 85.37 | AWS Middle East (UAE), me-central-1 | Yes. We build it, run it and look after it: web stack and database installed by us, OS and security updates applied by us, firewall, SSL renewed for you, migration included, monitoring every 5 minutes, daily backups as an optional add-on. |
| Dubai data centre: VPS, dedicated server or colocation | Configured and quoted on request | Dubai, UAE | Yes, managed by the same team; see servers in a Dubai data centre. |
| Managed WordPress hosting (WP Start, 60 GB NVMe, 2 GB RAM, 1 site) | USD 5.99 per month; WP Pro USD 10.99, WP Elite USD 20.99 | Europe | Yes. LiteSpeed cache, free off-site backup, free migration, with migration, server tuning and cache configuration handled by our team. |
| Shared cPanel hosting | See the shared hosting page | Europe and other regions | Yes. Free automatic SSL, free migration within 24 hours, AutoBackup, Softaculous, 24/7 live support. |
What “managed” means with us is the same on every line: our team does the setup and the migration, monitors the server, applies patches on managed plans, answers 24/7 in Arabic and English, and sends one invoice for hosting, domain, email and, where you want it, the phone system. Billing is monthly or annual at the same unit price; there is no 48-month headline rate and no separate renewal rate. If a configuration you order is unavailable, the store states that we offer the closest alternative or refund you in full.

How to Choose for a UAE Website or Store
1. Where are your customers? If most visitors are in the Emirates and the Gulf, every request to a server in Europe or Asia adds distance. A cached brochure page hides it; a checkout or a booking form does not. Our UAE, Saudi and Europe location comparison shows the measured difference. Of the 4 providers here, only the AWS UAE region and the Dubai data centre put the server in the country.
2. Must the data stay in the UAE? Your sector regulator or a customer contract may require it. Read the practical side in our article on the UAE data protection law and your website, then ask the provider to state the server’s country in writing before you order. None of the 3 competitor pages we read names a Middle East location.
3. What does your traffic look like? A Ramadan campaign, a product launch or a sale is a spike, not a new baseline. A server you can resize for 2 weeks and shrink again costs less than a plan sized for the peak all year. Our guide to choosing a VPS for a UAE business walks through the sizing.
4. Who does updates and backups? Read each provider’s definition of managed, not the word. hosting.com says it patches and backs up and gives you cPanel, not root. Cloudways manages the server and sells application help as an add-on. Hostinger manages the plan inside its panel. Whichever you choose, keep a backup you control; our website backup and recovery plan explains what to keep and where.
5. Budget per year, not per month. Multiply the renewal price by 12, add the add-ons you will actually use, and compare that figure. A USD 7.99 headline on a 48-month term, a USD 11 hourly server plus USD 100 of support, and a USD 97.78 managed server in the UAE are 3 different purchases. Our CapEx versus OpEx article explains how to put hosting in the budget so the renewal does not surprise anyone.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is managed cloud hosting the same as a managed VPS?
In practice the terms overlap. Both give you dedicated resources on a virtual server that the provider patches, monitors and backs up. “Cloud” usually adds the ability to resize the server without a rebuild. Read the provider’s own definition of managed, because it ranges from a panel-only plan to a server with root access and a support agreement.
Does any of these providers offer a server in the UAE?
Not on the pages we read on 2026-10-12. Hostinger lists regions in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Cloudways names DigitalOcean cities outside the region and lets you pick AWS or Google Cloud regions at launch. hosting.com mentions 10 data centres without cities. BIGBANG ITS offers AWS servers in the UAE region and Dubai servers on request.
Why is a Hetzner-based VPS in Germany so much cheaper than an AWS server in the UAE?
They are different products from different infrastructure owners. The German VPS line gives you full root access and 24/7 support from USD 8.90, with management under a separate agreement. The AWS UAE line is fully managed by our team, carries AWS regional pricing, and keeps the data in the country. Choose by where the data must live.
Can BIGBANG ITS move my site from Hostinger, Cloudways or hosting.com?
Yes. Migration is included on our managed WordPress plans and AWS managed servers, and free within 24 hours on shared hosting. We copy the site and database, bring it up on the new server, test it with you on a temporary address, then switch the DNS. Send us the current host and site size on WhatsApp.
