You have a company in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah, a website about to go live or one that keeps going down, and a search box that returns twenty hosting companies claiming to be the best in the UAE. Most of them hide the two things you need to know: where the server is and who answers when it breaks. This guide explains what hosting in the UAE means in practice, which plan fits which business, where the data centre should be, and how to decide in about ten minutes.
Quick Answer
Web hosting in the UAE means three separate things, and you should decide each one on its own: where the server sits (Dubai, Europe or the US), who runs it (a provider you can reach in the UAE, in Arabic and English, around the clock), and what you rent (shared, WordPress, Windows, VPS or a dedicated server). For a company website or a small store, cPanel shared or WordPress hosting with server-level caching is enough. For an application, a portal or data that must stay in the country, take a VPS or dedicated server in Dubai. All of our hosting services, from shared plans to dedicated servers, are managed from Sharjah and Dubai, with support 24/7.
What “web hosting in the UAE” actually means (location vs provider vs support)
When someone types “web hosting in UAE” or “web hosting Dubai”, they usually mix three questions into one. We separate them with every client, because the right answer to each is different.
Location of the server. The physical place where your files and database live. A server in Dubai is close to your visitors in the Gulf and keeps the data inside the country. A server in Germany is cheaper per unit of capacity. A server in the US suits visitors in North America. Location changes latency, compliance and price, and we cover the trade-offs below.
Location of the provider. The company that bills you, answers your tickets and holds the root password. A provider registered in the UAE with an office you can visit is a different thing from a reseller with a .ae domain and a support desk in another time zone. It decides whether you get a tax invoice in AED, whether anyone picks up on a Ramadan afternoon, and under which law a dispute is settled.
Support. Who you talk to at 2 a.m. when the site shows a database error. In our experience, clients who move to us from large international hosts rarely leave because the servers were bad. They leave because the ticket took three days and the reply was a knowledge-base link.
A good decision is one where you chose all three on purpose. Many of our clients host in Europe with a UAE provider and UAE support, and that is fine. What you should not do is pick a plan because the title said “Dubai” and find out later that the server, the company and the support are all somewhere else.
The hosting types we sell and who each is for
We have sold hosting to UAE businesses since 2003, and the catalogue has settled into seven types. Prices are not in this article on purpose; they change, and the current price of each plan is on the portal, in AED.
| Type | Who it’s for | Where it’s hosted | Start from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Linux shared hosting (cPanel) | Company websites, landing pages, small stores, email for a team | Our cPanel servers in Europe; Dubai through the Dubai Hosting plans | Linux shared hosting |
| WordPress hosting | WordPress sites that need LiteSpeed caching, staging and updates handled for you | Our cPanel servers with LiteSpeed in Europe; Dubai on request | LiteSpeed hosting on the portal |
| Windows shared hosting | ASP.NET applications and sites that need MSSQL or IIS | Our Windows servers in Europe | Windows plans on the portal |
| Dubai Hosting | Businesses whose visitors, data or regulator are in the UAE | A Dubai data centre, managed by our team | Dubai data centre options |
| Managed cloud VPS | Applications, portals, stores that outgrew shared hosting, agencies with several sites | UAE, Germany or the USA, your choice at order time | VPS hosting |
| Dedicated server | Workloads that need a whole machine: ERP, heavy databases, video, large stores | Dubai, Europe or the USA | Dedicated servers |
| Reseller hosting | Web designers and agencies who host their clients under their own brand | Our cPanel/WHM servers in Europe | Reseller hosting |
Shared Linux is the default for a company website, and WordPress hosting is the same thing with the WordPress parts handled: caching tuned for WordPress, a current PHP version, staging, and updates that do not break the site on a Sunday morning. Both run on cPanel with LiteSpeed, daily backups and malware scanning included.
Windows hosting exists for a reason, not as an alternative. If the site was built in ASP.NET or needs MSSQL, you need Windows. If not, Linux is cheaper, quicker for PHP and easier to find support for.
VPS and dedicated are for when the plan itself is the bottleneck. A VPS gives you your own operating system, resources and root access, with the operating system managed by us; a dedicated server gives you the whole machine. Move up when a shared plan’s CPU or memory limits are what slows you down, not before.
Data-centre location: Dubai, Europe or the US?
This is the question behind “web hosting Dubai”. The right location depends on three things pulling in different directions: latency, compliance and price. We published a detailed comparison of hosting in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Europe with measurements; this is the rule of thumb.
Latency favours Dubai. Every request travels from the visitor’s browser to the server and back, and Google’s guidance puts a good Time to First Byte at 0.8 seconds or less. A cached brochure page is served by a CDN edge, so distance barely matters. A checkout, a booking system or a portal builds every page per visitor and pays the distance several times per request. If your visitors are in the Gulf and your site is an application, Dubai wins.
Compliance favours Dubai for some businesses and is neutral for others. The UAE’s Personal Data Protection Law, Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, applies to the processing of personal data inside or outside the country and sets obligations for companies that hold it. A sector regulator, a government client or a contract may go further and require the data to stay in the UAE. If that applies to you, the decision is made. If not, hosting a public website in Europe is lawful and common.
Price favours Europe. Capacity in Germany is cheaper than the same capacity in Dubai, which is why our shared plans, like much of the hosting sold to UAE businesses, sit in European data centres; Hetzner, for example, describes its data-centre parks in Nuremberg, Falkenstein and Helsinki. The hyperscalers narrow the gap: AWS lists a Middle East (UAE) region, launched in 2022 with three availability zones, plus edge locations in Dubai and Fujairah, and our managed cloud VPS is sold in the UAE, Germany and the USA.
Our rule of thumb. Website for the world, or WordPress with a CDN: Europe, on shared or WordPress hosting. Application, portal or store with users in the UAE: a VPS or dedicated server in Dubai. Data that must stay in the country: Dubai, without discussion. Visitors mostly in North America: the US.
Speed: what matters more than the server
Clients come to us saying the server is slow. When we look, the server is usually idle and the site is doing too much. The full list of causes is in why your website is slow; four of them matter for a hosting decision.
Core Web Vitals are the yardstick. Google measures the real-world experience of a page with Largest Contentful Paint within 2.5 seconds, CLS of 0.1 or less and Interaction to Next Paint of 200 milliseconds or less, at the 75th percentile of page loads, and Search Central recommends good Core Web Vitals for success with Search. A host cannot fix a heavy theme or forty plugins, but it can make the server’s share of LCP negligible.
LiteSpeed and server-level caching do more than a bigger server. LiteSpeed Web Server is a drop-in alternative to Apache that its maker describes as handling thousands of concurrent clients with minimal memory and CPU, and it works with cPanel. The part that matters to you is the page cache: a cached WordPress page is served without running PHP or touching the database. On our plans it is on by default, and it is the single setting that moves TTFB the most.
PHP version is a free speed upgrade. WordPress recommends PHP 8.3 or greater, MariaDB 10.11 or MySQL 8.0, and HTTPS, and notes that older PHP versions have reached end of life and may expose a site to security vulnerabilities. We still see sites arrive from other hosts on PHP 7.4. Switching the version in cPanel takes a minute.
Distance to the visitor is the last factor, not the first. Fix caching and PHP, add a CDN for static files, then ask whether the server should move to Dubai. For an application with logged-in users in the UAE the answer is often yes; for a brochure site it is usually no.
Security and backups
A hosting plan should come with three things you never have to think about, and you should ask any provider to show them, not describe them.
Malware scanning on the server, not only in a plugin. Every one of our cPanel servers runs Imunify360, which scans files as they are written and quarantines what it finds. A security plugin inside WordPress runs after the attacker is already in; server-level scanning runs before. In the compromised sites that reach us, the entry point is almost always an outdated plugin or a reused password, and the second line of defence is what limits the damage.
Daily backups that you can restore yourself. We keep daily backups of every shared and WordPress account, and you restore files, databases or email from cPanel without a ticket. Ask any host how many days are kept and whether you can restore without them. If the second answer is no, the backup is theirs, not yours.
HTTPS, isolation and updates. TLS certificates are issued and renewed automatically. Accounts on a shared server are isolated, so a neighbour’s compromised site cannot read your files. And the server’s own software is patched by us, the part most self-managed VPS owners forget until it matters. For a VPS or dedicated server, the backup schedule, firewall and update policy are set per server and written into the handover.
Prices in AED and how billing works
We keep prices out of articles because they move. The current price of every plan is on the portal: web hosting, cloud VPS and the LiteSpeed plans linked above. What does not move is how billing works, and that is where UAE clients get surprised by other hosts.
Prices in AED, with a currency switch. The portal shows prices in AED, USD, SAR, EGP, EUR and GBP, and you choose the currency when you order. A UAE company gets a tax invoice in dirhams; a client in Saudi Arabia or Egypt pays in their own currency.
The price is locked for 36 months. The price you sign up at stays the same for three years, and any change comes with 30 days’ notice. Introductory prices that double at renewal are the most common complaint we hear from clients arriving from international hosts; we do not do that.
Partial refunds exist for selected services, hosting among them. If a plan turns out to be the wrong fit, tell us and we work out the unused portion rather than pointing at a clause.
What is included and what is not. The plan includes the server, control panel, caching, backups, malware scanning, TLS and support. A domain is separate; a .ae domain is registered under the rules of the .ae Domain Administration, which sets eligibility criteria and handles disputes. Business email on Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or Zoho is separate too, with migration included. For what hosting costs in the market, read web hosting price in the UAE.
How to choose in 10 minutes
This is the checklist we run with a new client on the phone. Answer each line and the plan chooses itself.
- What is the site? Brochure or blog: shared Linux. WordPress with a store or membership: WordPress hosting. An application with logged-in users: VPS. ASP.NET: Windows.
- Who are the visitors? Mostly in the UAE and the Gulf: Dubai is worth it for applications. Worldwide: Europe plus a CDN. North America: the US.
- Must the data stay in the UAE? If a regulator, a government client or a contract says so: Dubai, and the rest follows from that.
- What is the stack? PHP 8.3 and MariaDB 10.11 or MySQL 8.0 are the current WordPress recommendations. If your site needs an older version, you need a host that keeps it isolated.
- Who answers at 2 a.m.? Ask for support hours and language in writing, then open a pre-sales ticket on a Friday evening and see what happens.
- Can you restore a backup yourself? Ask for a screenshot of the restore screen. If there is none, the answer is no.
- Is the renewal price the same as the first-year price? Ask in writing, and ask how much notice you get before any increase.
- Is the invoice in AED with a UAE tax registration number? Your accountant will ask, so ask first.
- Can you leave? A full cPanel backup you can download and import elsewhere is the sign of a host that expects to keep you on merit.
- Who is the provider? A registered UAE company with an office address, or a brand page. Check before you pay.
Still between two plans? Take the smaller one. Moving up a tier with the same provider is a ticket; moving down after overbuying is a renewal argument.
Why UAE businesses host with us
We are not the cheapest host that ranks for “web hosting in UAE”, and we do not claim to have the quickest servers in the country. What we offer is specific.
A UAE company you can visit. BIGBANG ITS FZE has been registered in the UAE since 2003, headquartered at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park with a branch in Business Bay, Dubai. Invoices are in AED, the phone is +971 4 378 2255, and the people who answer it manage the servers.
cPanel from an authorised partner. We are a cPanel Authorized Partner, a programme cPanel describes as giving partners licensing, technical resources and partner support. For you it means a properly licensed panel, updated on schedule and backed by the vendor when something unusual happens.
Support 24/7 in Arabic and English. Tickets, WhatsApp and phone, around the clock, from people who read your cPanel account rather than a script. The Sharjah office is open Saturday to Thursday, 09:00 to 18:00, for the conversations that need a whiteboard.
Dubai, Europe and the US from one account. Shared and WordPress plans in Europe, Dubai Hosting from a Dubai data centre, VPS in the UAE, Germany and the USA, dedicated servers where you need them. When your needs change, the move is a ticket with us, not a migration to another company.
The boring guarantees. A 99.99% uptime commitment, prices locked for 36 months with 30 days’ notice, partial refunds on selected services, daily backups, Imunify360 scanning and LiteSpeed caching on every shared plan. None of it is exciting. All of it is what you will care about in month fourteen.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is the best web hosting in the UAE for a small business?
For a company website or a small store, cPanel shared or WordPress hosting with LiteSpeed caching, daily backups and malware scanning is the right starting point, from a UAE-registered provider that invoices in AED and answers around the clock. Move to a VPS only when the shared plan’s resource limits, not the design, are what slows the site.
Is it better to host my website in Dubai or in Europe?
Host in Dubai when your users are in the Gulf and the site is an application, a portal or a store built per visitor, or when a regulator or contract requires the data to stay in the UAE. Host in Europe when the site is a cached public website for the world and price matters more than milliseconds.
Do I need cPanel hosting in Dubai or is Europe fine?
cPanel is the control panel, not the location; it works the same wherever the server is. Much of the cPanel shared hosting sold in the UAE, including ours, runs in Europe, with Dubai available through dedicated Dubai Hosting plans. Choose the location on latency and compliance, then choose cPanel because it makes the account easy to manage and to move.
What should managed WordPress hosting in the UAE include?
At minimum: a current PHP version, server-level page caching, daily backups you can restore yourself, malware scanning on the server, free TLS, staging, and updates handled by the host. Then the business side: an AED invoice, a renewal price equal to the first-year price, and Arabic and English support you can reach at night and on weekends.
