Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how BIGBANG ITS FZE (“we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar storage technologies on its.ae and on our client portal at portal.its.ae. It describes what these technologies are, which ones we actually use, why we use them, and how you can control them. This policy complements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly.
What Are Cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. On each later visit the browser sends that file back, so the site can recognise your session, remember your preferences, or measure how the site is used. We also use two related technologies: local storage, which keeps small values in your browser until you clear them, and session storage, which is cleared as soon as you close the tab. Where this policy says “cookies”, it covers all three.
Your Choice, and What Runs Before You Make It
On your first visit a banner asks you to accept or decline measurement and advertising cookies. Until you accept, none of them run: no analytics, no tag manager and no advertising pixel is loaded, and none of their cookies is written. Only the strictly necessary and preference cookies listed below are used in the meantime.
Your answer is stored for one year in a cookie named bb_consent (1 accepted, 0 declined), set for the whole of its.ae so that one answer covers both the website and the client portal and you are not asked twice. If you decline, we also delete any measurement or advertising cookies already on your device. You can change your mind at any time: open the cookie banner again.
Cookies We Use
Strictly necessary — these are required for the website to work, and it cannot be provided without them.
- bb_consent — records your answer to the cookie banner, so we know what we may load and do not ask you on every page. Lasts one year.
- PHPSESSID — keeps your browsing session together across pages. Expires when you close the browser.
- pll_language — remembers whether you chose Arabic or English, so you are not returned to the wrong language on every page. Set by Polylang.
- LiteSpeed cache cookies — used by our caching layer to serve the correct version of a page (for example, a logged-in view rather than a public one, or a page without the tools you declined).
- Portal and order cookies — on portal.its.ae, our billing system (WHMCS) sets session and security cookies needed to sign in, keep a shopping cart, and protect forms against cross-site request forgery.
Preferences — these remember choices you made, so the site behaves the way you left it. The site works without them, but it will forget your settings.
- bb-theme (local storage) — remembers whether you selected light or dark mode.
- hide-bg-blur-effect — remembers if you dismissed a visual effect on the page.
- chatyWidget_0, activechatyWidgets — remember the state of the contact/chat button so it does not reopen on every page.
- elementor (local storage) — used by our page builder to keep interface state.
- g_state — set by Google Sign-In when it is available on a page, to remember that you dismissed the sign-in prompt.
Analytics — loaded only after you accept. These help us understand which pages are read, which services are searched for, and where visitors leave, so we can improve the site.
- _ga and _ga_<property id> — set by Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager. They distinguish one browser from another and measure sessions and page views. Typical lifetime is up to two years.
Advertising — loaded only after you accept. These let us measure the advertising we run and reach people who have shown an interest in our services.
- _fbp, and _fbc when you arrive from an advertisement — set by the Meta advertising pixel, which runs on both its.ae and portal.its.ae. It reports page views and certain actions: clicking a telephone, WhatsApp or e-mail link, starting a checkout, sending a quotation request, and the text typed into our domain search. Meta may use this to measure our advertising and to build advertising audiences. Typical lifetime is up to three months.
Third Parties That May Set Cookies
Some cookies are set by services we embed rather than by us directly. These providers process the data under their own privacy terms:
- Google, after you accept — Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.
- Meta, after you accept — the advertising pixel described above.
- Google, always — services the site needs in order to work and which are therefore outside the consent choice: the Google sign-in button, Google reCAPTCHA protecting our forms, Google-hosted fonts, and an embedded map. Loading them sends your IP address to Google even if you decline the cookies above; fonts and maps do not set cookies of their own.
- Chaty — the chat and contact button shown on our pages.
- Social and video platforms — if a page embeds content such as a YouTube video or a social feed, that provider may set its own cookies once the embedded content loads.
We do not sell the information collected through cookies. Where you accept advertising cookies, the pixel described above shares your activity on our sites with Meta, which may combine it with data it already holds to measure and target advertising; declining stops that entirely.
How Long Cookies Last
Session cookies, such as PHPSESSID, are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or until you delete them: your consent record lasts one year, preference cookies typically last from a few days to a year, advertising cookies up to three months, and analytics cookies up to two years. Values kept in local storage, such as your theme choice, remain until you clear your browser data.
How to Control Cookies
The first control is the banner itself: open it again to change your answer at any time. Declining stops the analytics and advertising tools from loading and deletes the cookies they had already set.
You can also control cookies from your browser at any time. Every major browser lets you view stored cookies, delete them individually or entirely, block cookies from specific sites, and block third-party cookies. The controls are usually found under Settings → Privacy. Most browsers also offer a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when the window is closed.
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the site from working: you may not be able to sign in to the client portal, complete an order, or keep your language selection. If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics on every website you visit, Google offers a browser add-on that does so.
